Staff Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate month-end close activities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP and governmental accounting regulations.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable management to ensure precise financial records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account analysis and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Support payroll management activities ensuring timely processing and compliance.
  • Conduct data entry tasks related to financial transactions using NetSuite.
  • Collaborate on internal controls, compliance and assist with audit preparations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including double entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation efforts across multiple platforms.
  • Support All About Doors & Windows recruitment and retention efforts through benefits administration.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental accounting practices.
  • Experience with payroll management systems such as ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently.
  • Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing skills preferred).
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and double entry bookkeeping.
  • Strong mathematical skills combined with analytical thinking for account analysis and budget support.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and support audit processes or external reporting requirements. This role is ideal for candidates eager to develop their expertise in both public and corporate accounting environments while making meaningful contributions to organizational success through precise financial management.

Pay: $23.50 - $29.75 per hour
